Pedagogy and content knowledge are the two biggest levers of change for effective math and science instruction. We provide engaging, practical training in both areas.
MATH AND SCIENCE INSTRUCTIONAL
We understand the challenges schools are facing with
Distance Learning and implementing robust STEM Math and Science programs. These two combined, adversely affect state standardized test scores. We provide a diagnostic of your school's Math and Science program, then work with stakeholders to Backwards Map a strategy to achieve your district goals.
STUDENT MATH AND SCIENCE PROGRAMS ONLINE, IN THE CLASSROOM OR BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL
The MASTERStudent Program (MSP) trains students on how to think, behave and become "A" students. Turn it up a notch and join the fun and future of education by engaging students in Math and Science with music and games in our signature program, ARMS-MFL
(Algebra Readiness, MASTERStudent) & Math Football League. STEMulate can also customize a student program to meet your needs.
PARENTAL SUPPORT IGNITES STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
For students to succeed in the classroom, requires a triadic approach that includes the teachers, students and parents. Student engagement starts with the parents! Our collective goal is to ensure their educational needs are met, mentally, emotionally, physically and culturally. STEMulate offers Parental workshops to help you better support your child with distance learning online and in the classroom. We show you simple techniques that can enhance your child's learning experience.
WE WON’T STOP UNTIL OUR KIDS REACH THE TOP!
Teach and foster a strong love of math and science by training teachers, empowering parents and engaging students in non-conventional, fun and culturally relevant ways. Promote and advocate for lucrative careers in STEM-related fields for people of color living in impoverished communities where resources, educational opportunities, support, and income are limited.
“Teach Math and Science to a million students of color per month, increasing access to STEM careers and providing inclusion to fresh, creative talent.”
Werner Elementary School, Rialto, California
OFFERING MATHAMPHETIMINES FOR YOUR MATHEMATICAL PAINS.
The most critical pain area in U.S. schools is math. We see the symptoms in classrooms every day: low test scores, drop out rates, frustrated teachers, and helpless parents. STEMulate Learning prescribes the anecdote to these pains by providing teacher training and student programs that make math RIGOROUS, FUN AND ENTERTAINING.
FRESH PERSPECTIVES ON EDUCATING 21ST CENTURY LEARNERS
COST SAVINGS THROUGH TEACHER RETENTION, DEVELOPMENT AND EFFECTIVENESS
EXPONENTIAL GROWTH IN STUDENT MATH AND SCIENCE PROFICIENCY SCORES
How do teachers use technology, smartphones, social media and hip-hop culture to engage students in rigorous math instruction?
It is more economically sound and instructionally prudent to train the teachers you have than to seek, recruit and indoctrinate new teachers.
Learning is not linear. Students do not improve their performance at the same rate each year; that is a myth. Most learning happens exponentially. Seeds are planted, habits are formed, time is invested, then over time, students experience an explosion of growth.
(Algebra Readiness, MasterStudent & Math Football League Program)
ARMS is an educational program designed to assist students in their pursuit of mathematical acumen and success in Algebra and beyond.
*The ARMS-MFL program is 40 hours of instruction/coaching for classes of 10-25 students. Multiple groups or sessions are available based on need
ALL THINGS ALGEBRA
We specialize in ALL THINGS ALGEBRA, identifying the high leverage math skills needed to achieve a deep understanding of Algebra, combined with engaging activities that address the cultural and social emotional needs of students.
MATH FOOTBALL LEAGUE
The MFL (Math Football League) is a collaborative game format that trains middle and high school students to improve their current academic grade in math and to increase their scores on standardized tests. It was created to simulate the structure of football, and combines rigor and excitement through coaching, instruction and competition. It increases student collaboration in class and enhances the implementation of the Standards for Mathematical Practice.
Testimonial from Para M., Caltech Institute of Technology-Attended STEMulate Learning Tutor Training Program
My student Kaylee is a pleasure to work with! I tried some of the tips from the STEMulate Learning training session in terms of introductions and building relationships with students before the math, I think it worked well! I tried to keep the energy up. We worked on some fun problem solving involving her pet Paxton to personalize the lesson which I picked up from the training.
Liz Jackman of Caltech This is exactly what I was hoping the training would include. I was so happy to see her implementing what she learned from STEMulate. Thank you again!
AUDUBON MIDDLE SCHOOL
"STEMulate's Math Program dramatically impacted the growth of our most challenged Algebra students. The tremendous rise in student performance played an integral role in raising our school's scores and contributed to my success as being named Principal of the Year.”
Dr. DeWayne Davis, Principal, 2011
VIP Scholars, UCLA
“STEMulate taught several math classes for VIPS [which prepares high school students from underrepresented backgrounds for admissions to competitive four-year universities such as UCLA]. His engaging and culturally teaching strategies resonated with students and contributed to their growth and success.”
